Mortimer Beckett and the Book of Gold is a hidden object adventure game where you help a young man on his mission to reveal all the little secrets that his uncle hid in an old museum.

This game is divided into levels, each one corresponding to particular room in the museum. The museum is old and abandoned, and all the rooms are crammed full of objects. On each level, you have to rebuild one or more objects to open the doors to the next room. These objects have been broken into pieces and scattered around. To enter the next room, you need a special code, and to find the code, you need to look at pictures with a black light, and to use the black light, you need to build a battery and a black light bulb, the parts of which are scattered about.

Not only do you need sharp eyes to find all the parts to build the objects, but you also need to be smart if you want to decipher the puzzles and unlock the door to the next room.
